International Symposium TEMPMEKO&ISHM 2010:
Between 31st May - 4 June 2010 in Portorož, Slovenia, the International Symposium is held on the temperature, humidity and moisture - TEMPMEKO & Ishme 2010. Symposium was attended by authors from 38 countries and presented were 435 scientific and research papers from around the world. In addition to exhibitors from the region and the world's most famous producers of calibration equipment, the sponsors of this symposium were there carrying that all participants feel comfortable. The representatives of the Institute of Metallurgy "Kemal Kapetanović” Zenica, University of Zenica, took part at this Symposium with scientific research entitled:

The paper "A new prototype of the apparatus for calibration of sensors for measuring the temperature of the solid surface is the result of research project that is still ongoing and its realization were involved three metrological laboratories: Laboratory for Technical Measurements, Institute of Metallurgy" Kemal Kapetanović“, Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina primary calibration laboratory MKEH Hungary and Laboratory of Metrology and Quality LMK, University of Ljubljana.
After a successful presentation, the work has caused a great interest in the symposium attendance, because it is a new approach and original solution of the calibration apparatus with highly improved characteristics compared to existing apparatus. Once the prototype is finished, the results are expected with great interest, which will confirm the obtained model performance.
Attendance at this symposium was a great affirmation of metrology in B&H, given the high level of scientific papers presented and of the "Journal of Thermo-Physics" in which this work will be published.

Participation at the 9th International Symposium of Croatian Metallurgical Society:
In the period from 20 to 24.06.2010. held was the 9 International Symposium of Croatian Metallurgical Society "SHMD 2010" in Šibenik.
Symposium was attended by 46 countries with 541 activists, divided into 4 sections. On behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the University of Zenica it was attended by representatives of the Institute of Metallurgy and the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials. The papers synopsises were published in the Journal Metallurgy (Metallurgy).
Honorary member (Honour Board) Symposium was Professor Mirsada Oruč, and the Metallurgical Institute "Kemal Kapetanović" in Zenica, Zenica, University of Zenica, has received recognition for cooperation.

VISIT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA FACULTY OF HEALTH DELEGATION TO THE MEDICAL FACULTY FOČA:
On 28.06.2010, the Delegation of the Faculty of Health, University of Zenica, headed by the dean Prof. Sahib Muminagić, visited the Medical Faculty, Foča, which has as its part the study of health care. At the meeting attended by the Vice-Rector for Science, Development and International Cooperation of the university Zenica, Prof. DSc Darko Petković, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Prof. Sahib Muminagić, Vice Dean for Education, Faculty of Health Doc PhD Tandir Salih, Chairman of NNV's Faculty of Health Dr Doc sc Hajrudin Skender, senior assistant Suad Sivić, ECTS Coordinator of the Health Faculty, graduate med. tech. Oruč Mirza. On behalf of the Medical Faculty in Foča the meeting was attended by Dean of the Medical Faculty Foča, Prof. DSc Veljko Marić, Assistant professor Dejan Bokonjić, Assistant professor Siniša Ristić, and Assistant professor Srdjan Mašić. At the meeting discussed were the existing and current activities, issues concerning the Faculty of Health Studies, the methods of possible future cooperation. On this occasion the capacities of the Faculty in Foča were presented to the Delegation of Zenica, both material and human as well. We hope that this is only the beginning of a long and productive cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting was concluded by the agreement on the next visit of the Medical Faculty Foča delegation in the month of September, when the software for practicing and the education of nursing arts will be presented and will remain as a gift to the Faculty of Health. Medical Faculty Foča will receive a gift, 12 textbooks made by Tempus project, which will receive all other colleges in the state. Agreed is the mutual exchange of teachers as a form of cooperation.

UNZE: THE DELEGATION OF ZDK VISIT:
During several hours lasting working meeting, the ZDK (Zenica – Doboj Canton) delegation visited UNZE, headed by Prime Minister Miralem Galijašević and Education Lady Minister of ZDK Zdenka Merdjan with their colleagues. During a tour of laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, libraries and other objects, presented is the equipment purchased last year at University of Zenica, and the investment practices of building new facilities. After touring the campus, the delegation of ZDK and the Rector of UNZE talked with representatives of all Organization Units of the University of Zenica, about the present moment with a special emphasis on issues of recruitment of new staff, problems in implementing new projects, treasury operations, lack of space, etc.

SARAJEVO: CEREMONY START OF MAKING STRATEGIES FOR SCIENCE DEVELOPMENT IN FB&H:
Academy of Science of B&H hosted on Jun 6, 2010, the representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, headed by the FB&H Lady Minister Meliha Alić at the official beginning of the development strategy of science in the FB&H. Speaking to reporters, and representatives of the project team, professor, academician Božidar Matić, who is also head of the team, stressed the importance of this document for future scientific – research work (SRW) in the FB&H. The Lady Minister Alić underlined that this ministry's efforts seem to be in a difficult economic conditions, but stress the importance of SRW. University of Zenica, and its strategy has been recognized as a significant factor in the development of SRW in the FB&H, since two professors, DSC Sabahudin Ekinović professor and DSc Darko Petković are appointed to the project team of the B&H Academy of Sciences consisting of 12 members.

EAST SARAJEVO: Working meeting on academic titles in B&H:
Ministry of Civil Affairs and the University of Eastern Sarajevo hosted one day lasting working meeting of representatives of all public universities in B&H with the aim of making the final decision on the names of titles that are acquired in the higher education system in B&H. All-day working meeting, chaired by the Minister of MCP B&H Mr Sredoje Nović with his team, was attended on behalf of UNZE participated by the Rector, professor Sabahudin Ekinović DSc, and vice Rector, professor Darko Petković DSc. In a very constructive atmosphere achieved is a significant approximation in the attitudes of participants about which „ the spears are breaking more than two years“. Six public universities made it on this occasion a number of concessions to the representatives of the two universities (University of Sarajevo and Mostar University), which more than one year do not want to sign a document that was signed by six other public universities in B&H. In addition to the name bachelor and graduate, which could be equally used as admitted by the representatives of six public universities, there were also discussions about the level of competence with 180 and 240 ECTS equivalencies and old titles.

SARAJEVO: SEMINAR ON IMPORTANCE OF THE SCIENTIFIC – RESEARCH WORK DEVELOPMENT:
Ministry of Civil Affairs, European Commission-Office in Sarajevo and Technopolis-partner consortium project of the EU in B&H held in Parliament Buildings of B&H- a day lasting seminar on the importance of developing scientific research and of innovative work. Participants in the seminar on behalf of the organizers were the vice rectors for science of public universities in B&H, the representatives: of the Cantonal Ministries of Science and Education Ministeries of the Government of the FB&H and RS, B&H Council for Science, Academy of Science of B&H and Republika Srpska, the World Bank, of foreign embassies, etc. After the introductory speeches Strategy and presentation of the state of science development in B&H, the scientific research, technical innovation, and work at the university, the vice-rectors have spoken of all B&H universities. by The representatives of embassies of Norway, Austria and Japan and the EC presented their past involvement in the development of this sector in B&H. Especially interesting were the presentations by the representatives of the Ministries of Science of Slovenia, Estonia and Croatian, which are available on the website of the projects implemented by the European Commission in B&H. Continuation of this seminar will be two days of training for the representatives of the B&H academic community, which will be held at 6 university centres in June 2010.

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS AND RECOGNITION FOR UNZE:
At the session of the Senate, held at UNZE on 26.05.2010., the Rector, Professor DSC Sabahudin Ekinović introduced to the members of the UNZE, in the introductory part of the session, two awards won by the University of Zenica in the last month.
First award is obtained on the occasion of Europe Day, May 9, for "European orientation of the University of Zenica" on May 9, 2010, in Bihać from the European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina (www.eminbh.org), which was received on behalf UNZE by Assistant Amel Alić. By this award, obtained only by the University of Zenica of all B&H state universities, recognized is its European orientation, which is promoted by its teaching, research and other activities. Events in Bihać, gathered in one place representatives of local executive authorities, local communities, business, media and nongovernmental organizations and international and European diplomatic officials, European parliamentarians, humanitarian organizations and donors.
The second award is granted by the University of Sarajevo on the occasion of its 60 years as the oldest of B & H universities, which pay tribute to members of colleges UNZE who for decades worked to develop UNSA and today, through various cooperation programs have excellent cooperation with the largest and oldest B & H universities. On behalf of the University of Zenica this recognition was received by the Rector, professor Sabahudin Ekinović DSc, during the solemn academy held in Sarajevo.

Petroleum industry, renewable energy sources and environmental protection:
Technology Development Centre Osijek and Varaždin Technology Park, in the framework of European Enterprise Network EEN HR, organized in May 27 – 28, 2010, a business event on the theme "The oil industry, renewable energy sources and environmental protection." Metallurgical Institute "Kemal Kapetanović“ Zenica, University of Zenica was involved in this event as a partner with the organizers, in the framework of EEN B&H: Technology Development Centre Osijek, Varaždin Technology Park Ltd, Business Information Centre Ltd. - BICRO Zagreb, Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the chamber of commerce and industry in Pécs. Participants of this meeting presented their presentations, and then have discussions in their mutual contacts, about the experiences and problems encountered in business, and about possible business arrangements. By this event to the participants the participation is made possible in the Expo, Pamapas, Osijek.

VISIT BY STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF HEALTH JZU CLINICAL SCIENCE CENTER:
On 31.05.2010, the III-d year students of the Faculty of Health within the subject Palliative Care JZU visited the University Clinical Centre of Tuzla. During the visit, students had the opportunity to see and learn about the organization and functioning of tertiary health care and hospice organization and functioning of such a unique institution in this region. Hosts of the students were the main clinic nurse Safija Kalajlić VMS, and several of her colleagues, who have done an extraordinary effort to welcome this visit and make it as pleasant as possible and with as much educational content to students. The visit Zenica Faculty of Health students is the first of its nature in such an institution. Students were satisfied with what they could see and hear from their older colleagues, and expressed their satisfaction with this visit.

Presentation of the study possibilities in Germany:
The Presentation of opportunities to study at universities in Germany is done on Wednesday, 26.05.2010 at the UNZE Faculty of Economics. The presentation was done by Embassy officials of Republic of Germany: Mr. Franz Kaufman, Secretary for Public Affairs, Mrs. Heike Link, lecturer in German at the University of Sarajevo, and Miss Biljana Bešić, Consultant for the scholarship. The presentation was attended by students of fourth year of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Education (Department of German Language) and by the vice dean for scientific research and international cooperation Assistant professor Jasmin Halebić, senior assistant MSc Almir Alihodžić and graduate assistant. Econ. Ajla Muratović, from the Faculty of Economics and Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Assistant Professor Aida Mahmutović from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials. 17 years of the University in East Sarajevo:
University of East Sarajevo celebrated on 24.05.2010. its 17th birthday. The celebration was held in the amphitheatre of Electrical Engineering in Lukavica Rector, professor DCs Mitar Novaković has spoken presenting the university and its members. Especially Rector Novakovic spoke about the specifics of the University because it is the only integrated university in B&H organizing its teaching and research process in as many as 8 locations. 18 new doctors of science has been promoted at the ceremony who have gained their highest scientific position at UNISA during the past year. The appropriate speeches, on behalf of the guests from the academic community, were addressed by Rector of UNBL, prof. DSc Stanko Stanić, by professor and vice chancellor of UNTZ professor Mirsad Đonlagić. On behalf of University of Zenica, the ceremony was attended by the Vice-rector professor D. Petković, DSc.

Image60 YEARS UNIVERSITY IN SARAJEVO:
University of Sarajevo celebrated his 60th birthday. In the presence of numerous delegations from universities and abroad, the celebration was held on 20.05.2010. at the National Theatre in Sarajevo. The Rector of UNS, professor DSc Faruk Čaklovica presented the oldest and largest university in B&H and its six decades of work. Celebration was preceded by numerous other events from which we can mention a birthday concert 19.05., Panel discussion on Higher Education 20.05. and numerous other events, exhibitions and promotions. Giving appropriate gifts to UNSA, the rector of UNZE, prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović stressed the importance for the development of higher education in Zenica and shared more than 45 years of development with University of Zenica. At a special Academy the Rector of UNSA professor DSc Faruk Čaklovica delivered to UNZE rector, professor DSc Sabahudin Ekinović, the commemorative gratitude for his contribution to the development of the Sarajevo University. In addition to the rector Ekinović front UNZE ceremony was also attended by Vice-rector professor DSc Darko Petković.

TEMPUS PROJECT SEMINAR ON THE COMPETENCES, GIRONA, SPAIN:
University of Girona (Universidad de Girona, www.udg.es) hosted the three-day seminar on the project competence (Tempus - Competence), held for the universities from Western Balkans countries (Zenica, Novi Sad, Podgorica, Skopje) and EU partners ( Graz, Girona, Gent). During the work, the project teams of each university from WB presented its views on the development of centres of competence that should be developed through this project at each university-partner from WB. University of Girona, as the host of seminar, presented its solutions with special emphasis on software solutions and state legislation, which has been made in Spain in terms of required competencies that the graduates must have of each level of study. The UNZE, as a carrier of the project, presented the planned solution and expectations from the project with special emphasis on what each project partner is supposed to do. The special quality of work in Girona was the work in separate groups perceiving specific competence of certain faculty departments, which the team of UNZE was split into two groups: the Polytechnic School and the Faculty of Economics, University of Girona. By the design solutions, in the coming period a larger research of UNZE alumni competencies is planned and of employers expectations from the graduates of the University of Zenica, then previewed are the formation of Centre for Competence in QMS Office at UNZE and equipping this centre through the Tempus project. This Centre will be closely linked to a Career Centre that the project, developed through BSC Zenica, a service that will be administrated by Personnel of the UNZE Faculty of Economics, in cooperation with other UNZE Organization Units. The UNZE team at the seminar was headed by Project Chief, Vice-rector professor Darko Petković, with participation of the Director of BSC, MSc Nino Serdarević, the dean of FE professor Dževad Zečić and assistant Jasmin Halebić. Complete organization of seminar in Girona was superbly performed by the host University of Girona and by the WUS team, led by the director of WUS from Graz, Mr Adi Kovačević and the director and project coordinator Mrs Nina Beširević.

RECEPTION IN THE SCIENTIFIC - TECHNOLOGY PARK GIRONA:
The delegation of the University of Zenica visited on 05/12/2010 the Scientific-Technological Park (STP), University of Girona, Spain (Universidad de Girona, www.udg.es), where, in an interview with the Director of STP, DSc Pere Condom Vila, its members received basic information about the current state of the development of STP and of the state of scientific and technological parks in Spain, in the period of world recession.  The Government of Spain and Catalonia as well as the University of Girona invested in the STP Girona more than 60 millions €, and the park today has about 1000 employees working on development projects for the businessmen of the Girona region and Catalonia region, and beyond. The delegation of Zenica, which consisted of Vice-rector professor Darko Petković, the BSC director MSc Nino Serdarević, the dean of FE, professor Dževad Zečić and assistant Jasmin Halebić, the dean of FH, professor Sahib Muminagić, visited the company Airborne (one of the world’s leader in the development of composite materials, www.airborneinternational.com ), the Research Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and the Wikilock company, one of the world's Internet brand for Internet applications.

SARAJEVO: THE FINAL CONFERENCE ON STRATEGIC PLANNING IN B&H:
Directorate of Economic Planning of B&H (DEP) held a final conference in Sarajevo on Strategic Planning in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where, after the opening speech the DEP Director Mrs Ljerka Marić, many participants were welcomed by Faud Kasumović, Deputy Minister, Mario Farrar Hockley, EC Sarajevo, HE Donatus Kock, Ambassador of Austria and H.E. Rolf Lenz, Ambassador of Switzerland. Keynote speeches were held by Mojmir Mrak, professor at the University of Ljubljana, Dr. Kemal Kozaric, director of CB and Goran Tinjic BIH, World Bank. During two days work all aspects of strategy and performed duties and tasks were considered that need to be defined as soon as possible to gain access for the Strategy be operative. On behalf of the University of Zenica, the vice rector, professor DSc Darko Petković participated in seminar work, who was a participant in the development of the strategy in the field of business infrastructure and competitiveness. This time DEP staff also stressed the importance of the panel discussions held at University of Zenica in April 2010, on the occasion of elaborating the Strategy as the best done with numerous very useful suggestions and comments on the draft working document of the Strategy.

PODGORICA: TEMPUS REGIONAL SEMINAR:
University of Montenegro hosted a three-day seminar in the field of universities in the Western Balkans-ZB (Tempus Regional Seminar on University Governance in the Western Balkans). The seminar was held in the new building of the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro and then in hotel „Montenegro“. The seminar was inaugurated by Mr Klaus Haupt, the director of Tempus, after which participants were welcomed by Rector of the University of Montenegro, professor Predrag Miranović, DSc, head of the EC Commission in Podgorica and the Ministry of Education of Montenegro. Keynote address was given by professor John Reilly of the University of Kent (UK). After this two-day work is conducted in three parallel sections: A) and the Ministry of Higher Education B) management and managing structure of universities C) financial management and human resources of the university. The seminar was attended by representatives of all countries of WB and the representatives from ministries, universities (rectors / vice / professors), students and stakeholders. B&H delegation consisted of professor Darko Petković (UNZE), Assist. professor Dejan Bokonjić (UNISA), PhD Dražen Tomić (Mostar University), professor Vildana Alibabić (UNBI), Suad Muhibić (Tempus) and Jadranka Mihić (EC SA). Representative of the University of Zenica, Vice-rector professor DSc Darko Petković was chairman of the section which discussed the importance of integration of a university.

CIP UNZE: PARTICIPATION IN CONFERENCE ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ECONOMIC FAIR IN MOSTAR:
The representatives of the CIP UNZE, professor Darko Petković and MSc Nino Serdarević attended the conference on Economic Fair in Mostar, organized by the Federal Ministry of Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship. In a series of very useful presentations it might been heard about the current state of entrepreneurship in B&H, the state of infrastructure development and preparation of important normative documents for the development of this extremely important area of the economy of each country. In an interview with Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Jozo Bejić and Mr. Minister Velimir Kunić, there was talk of potential applications of UNZE to FMROP projects and new IPA project development of innovation centres in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica, in which UNZE is one of the participants. Representatives of the CIP UNZE visited the fair and learn about the latest offers of companies from around the world participating in this great event.

MR FRANCO FRATTINI: TALKS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF ACADEMIC COMMUNITY OF B&H:
During his official visit , the Italian Foreign Minister talked with the representatives of B&H academic community in Rector's Office of the University of Sarajevo. Representatives of four B&H public universities, the rector and vice rector of UNSA, professor Faruk Čaklavica and professor Samir Arnautović, the rector of UNTZ, professor Halilović, PhD, vice rector of University of Zenica, professor DSc Darko Petković and vice rector of UNISA professor DSc Zoran Ljuboje, presented B&H educational university system and the expected priority projects, which are planned to be implemented in the future. Minister Frattini emphasized the importance of mobility of personnel to build the capacity of B&H higher education institutions and invited academic community of B&H to be a guest of the Government of Italy with their representatives, after the abolition of visa regime. Prof. Massimo Maria Caneva from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy discussed with B & H representatives the modalities of future cooperation. After this meeting, Minister Frattini held a very inspiring speech about the expected prospects for the future status of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European family packed ceremony hall of the UNSA Rectorate.The whole event was brilliantly organized by the UNSA Rector and management of UNSA.

MOSTAR: SEMINAR - KEY INDICATORS IN QUALITY ASSURANCE:
During one day lasting seminar held at the University of Mostar, project teams of two universities UNZE (DSc Darko, QA manager MSc. Plančić Ibrahim, MSc Nino Serdarević, lead auditor and QA Muslić Seid, a representative of students) and Sveučilište Mostar (professor Dražen Tomić, professor Snježana Rezić, QA manager, professor Brano Markić, a member of the team and Mr Marko Bokšić, representative of the students) were acquainted with the current state of QA on these two universities and the current method of monitoring the KPI. Critically were discussed and agreed the guidelines for further work on the project in all spheres of universities activities. Prof. Petković and QA manager Plančić have given in two separate presentations cross-section of the state of QA systems at University of Zenica and operational work with the KPI. Particularly it was talked about integrated software in developing the UNZE and binding capabilities of this module with the software.

MOSTAR: MEETING OF THE PROJECT CONSORTIUM OF „DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE ", SVEUČILIŠTE MOSTAR - UNZE:
At the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Mostar was held on 06.04.2010. firs consortium meeting on the project „Development of Information System for Quality Assurance“, jointly developed by QA Offices, University of Mostar and the University of Zenica, which is funded by the ADA and the Austrian Development Agency and supported by WUS Austria. This project aims to work on improvement measures which are derived from the program of measures that are defined on the basis of EUA external evaluation carried out during 2009. Through the project it will be worked on development of common key indicators of status and on building the software platform for easier monitoring of KPI. At the first meeting of the project consortium the teams are defined, who will work on developing a common set of key indicators, the teams for making documents with the requirements for IT quality assurance and the monitoring of software. On behalf of UNZE, the consortium meeting was attended by vice rector professor Darko Petković, QA manager MSc. HOMAGE ANNIVERSARY OF PROFESSOR DR MUSTAFA OMANOVIĆ:
It's been exactly a year since the death of a great man, a humanist and long-time professor of Zenica University professor DSc Mustafa Omanović. On the anniversary of his death his many friends, and especially the youth with whom prof. Omanović had lasting and unbreakable bond, planted the memory tree of a great man in the park in front of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials where prof. Omanović spent most of his working life. Prof. Omanović was one of the first B&H ecologists, plume-scientific thinking in the development of environmental engineering and quality systems, but above all a humanist, a man who regularly donated blood, led a number of humanitarian action, a fighter for justice, truth and honesty.Such always will be the memory of him and the generations of his students, now recognized academic workers, engineers, technologists, miners, economists, ecologists and many others will remember him.

PANEL DISCUSSION: MAKING STRATEGY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF B&H AND STRATEGY OF SOCIAL INCLUSION:
University of Zenica was the host of panel discussion on the development strategy of B&H and the B&H Social Inclusion Strategy held on 07/04/2010. Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the process of making two key strategic documents: the Development Strategy of B&H and the B&H Social Inclusion Strategy. Directorate for Economic Planning is the holder of the role of coordinator of the drafting process of these strategic documents, in cooperation with the governments of the B&H Federation, the Republic Srpska and Brčko District. These documents will serve as a guide to social and economic development of the country in the coming medium term. Organized by the Faculty of Economics, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Business Start-up Centre and the Institute of Metallurgy and the Directorate of Economical Planning of Ministers Council (www.dep.gov.ba), in a crowded Reading Room of the Metallurgical Institute, first were presented these documents and then transferred to an extensive discussion and questions of participants. Participants of the panel discussion were welcomed, on behalf of DEP and UNZE , the accommodation and by professor DSc Darko Petković and Mrs Mirela Ibrahimagić, who were the moderators of the panel discussion.Presentation of the two strategies were carried out by DEP experts Mrs Mirela Ibrahimagić, Mr Rijad Kovač and professor Vjeko Domjan, followed by a discussion, suggestions and proposals in which participated numerous professors and associates of UNZE, the guests of panel discussion from other cities and universities in B&H, and especially the students of the UNZE Faculty of Economics. During the break of the round table held, a press conference was held when prof. Petković and Mr. Ibrahimagić Ibrahimagić have spoken.

TEMPUS OFFICE IN B&H VISIT:
In the framework of final evaluation activities of the project „Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (IEC) of UNZE“, the guests of IEC UNZE on 22.03.2010 were Mr. Suad Muhibić, director of Tempus B&H and Mrs Mahira Zonić, a collaborator in the Tempus B&H. In an interview with the management of IEC UNZE Prof. DSc Darko Petković, Prof. Balić and Technical Director MSc Serdarević, spoken was about the effects of the two-year implementation of the Tempus project. As the most important benefits of the project, Prof. Petković stressed that the IEC is now a part of the organizational structure of UNZE, and that, in parallel with the development of this project, developed are the Business Start Up Centre Zenica and University Incubator, and intensified are too the activities on the development of Scientific Technological Park Zenica. UNZE VISIT: MR. ANNE MARTIN, EC BRUSSELS:
The guests of UNZE on 17.03.2010, was Mrs. Anne Martin of the evaluation team of the EC in Brussels, for the oversight of the projects implemented by the EC in the Western Balkans, which refer to the field of entrepreneurship. In an interview with the rector, Professor DSc Sabahudin Ekinović, vice rector, Professor DSC Darko Petković and MSc Nino Serdarević, Mrs. Martin met UNZE and most important project in the field of entrepreneurship, which UNZE worked in recent years and which have been implemented with the help of EC. First presented was the project of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship UNZE, BSC Zenica, University Incubator and the planned project of Scientific Technological Park Zenica. In the year 2009 year CIP is involved in implementing project activities, many of which are: participation in the elaboration of the study the state of business infrastructure for the needs of the Development Strategy of B&H, for the period 2009-2014, prepared applications and provisions of IPA project ''Development of Innovation Centres in Zenica, Banja Luka and Mostar,'' 2009-2011. VISIT AND DISCUSSIONS WITH DIRECTOR OF THE AGENCY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE IN BIH:
Guest of UNZE on 16.03.2010. was Director of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance in Bosnia and Herzegovina, professor Nihad Fejzić. In the Senate hall of UNZE, in the presence of the dean and directors of Organization Units and UNZE management, Prof. Fejzić prezented the Agency's work in the year 2009 and plan on external evaluation of universities in B&H in 2010. Then there was talk about organizing the higher education institutions in accordance with the Law on Higher Education, the importance of performing regular internal and external evaluations, student surveys, normative documents for higher education institutions, standards and norms for the accreditation system of internal quality assurance. In a content full discussion it was concluded that all members UNZE submit their comments and suggestions on the handout of the Agency, as a starting material for the external evaluation within 10 days to the address of QA Manager of UNZE, MSc Ibrahim Plančić.

STARTING A NEW PROJECT OF MOSTAR UNIVERSITY AND UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA:
In the Rector's Office of the University of Mostar solemn signing was held on 09.03.2010., on the occasion of the beginning a new project, done by the rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. DSc Vlado Majstorović on one hand, and, by Prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović, for the University of Zenica, and by the representatives of ADA-Austrian Development Agency, on the other. This project is a joint application to prepare UNMO and UNZE, and it aims to work on improvement measures that are arising from the application of measures that are defined on the basis of EUA external evaluation conducted during the 2009 in this two B&H universities. The project will work on developing key indicators of status and tele-building software platform to facilitate monitoring of KPIs. By signing this project rectors Majstorović and Ekinović have stressed the importance of previous projects with the ADA and WUS Austria and have expressed belief that the ADA Austria expand the scope of its projects in B&H.

Gosti UNZE dana 10.03.2010.godine bili su predstavnici Amabasade Japana u BIH koji su predstavili mogućnosti studijskih boravaka studenata i nastavnika u Japanu tokom 2010.i 2011.godine.Guests of UNZE on 10.03.2010. were the representatives of Japanese Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who presented the possibility of study stays for students and teachers in Japan during 2010. and 2011. U razgovoru sa Rektorom Ekinovićem i prorektorom Petkovićem, Mrs Maiko Hamakawa, drugi sekretar Ambasade naglasila je opredjeljenost Vlade Japana za pomoć akademskoj zajednici u BIH te planirane programe u ovoj akademskoj godini.In an interview with the Rector Ekinović and Vice Rector Petkovic, Mrs Maik Hamakawa, second secretary of the Embassy emphasized the commitment of the Government of Japan to support the academic community in B&H, and planned programs in this academic year. Predstavljajući ove programe studentima i profesorima UNZE u Svečanoj Sali FMM Mrs.Hamakawa je na vrlo simpatičan način predstavila put preko aplikacije do mogućeg studijskog boravka u Japanu te dala osnovne podatke o Japanu.Presenting these programs to students and teachers of UNZE in the ceremony hall of FMM, Mrs.Hamakawa outlined in a very nice manner the possiilities of the study and of applications to stay in Japan and gave basic information about Japan. GHENT (BELGIIUM): A NEW BEGINNING OF THE TEMPUS PROJECT:
Ka-Ho Sanit Lieven University of Ghent in Belgium hosted the first meeting (kick-off meeting) on the Tempus project Standards for Accreditation of Study Programs on B&H Universities (158853_Tempus_BE_SMGR: 2010) - Standards for accreditation of study programs at the B&H universities. With host a meeting was attended by the representatives of all eight public universities in B&H, the EU partners with the University of Porto, Brasov and Heidelberg, the Agency for accreditation from Barcelona and Brussels, the representatives of the Agency for  development of higher education and quality assurance of B&H and representatives of SUS B&H and WUS Austria. As the only university in B&H, which passed in the previous two years the two external evaluation, the UNZE significantly participated in the preparation of this application by the B&H, led by University of East Sarajevo and its coordinator doc.Dr Dejan Bokonjić. Through this three-year project that is of great importance for UNZE, because it represents the continuity of the development of QA and QMS and performance of internal and external evaluation, will be done all the preparations for the execution of pilot projects of the extern curriculum evaluation study in selected departments, and all offices for QA to be at UNZE will be equipped with new IT equipment. Presenting the UNZE QA system as well as two external evaluation, vice-rector of UNZE, Prof. DSc Petković, stressed the importance of internal evaluation of each organization and invited all the representatives of B&H academic community to consider this project most seriously, because the benefits from it for each university can be great.

CIP UNZE: VISIT OF THE DELEGATION POLITECNICO DI TORINO:
In the framework of final activity on the project of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, which is financed from the budget of the European Commission (Tempus program) organized was a two-day visit of management of the Business Incubator I3P Polytechnic University of Turin, consisted of Prof. Gianni Guerra and the member of Polytechnic University Senate, Mr Leo Italiano. First day of the stay, the visitors from Italy visited CIP Centre and talked with the staff of the Centre, among whome were Prof. DSc Darko PetkoviĆ, Director of the Centre, with the associates Prof. DSc Senad Balić, MSc Nino Serdarević, Mr Ernad Bešlagić, Mrs Maja Sušić, Mr Damir Selak, Mr Remzija Gušić and others, after which organized was the visit to laboratories LECAD, Lab. for wood processing technology, UNZE Business Incubator, the multimedia centre and BSC Zenica. The hosts presented to the guests CIP activities in the last 6 months and the plan for implementation of remaining activities in the project. Through this project, in addition to the establishment and development of the Centre, UNZE has got modern equipped multimedia centre and graphic work station LECAD laboratories. It should be noted that this project nominated by the National Tempus Office B&H as Best Tempus project in 2010 from B&H. On the second day of the stay in Zenica, the guests from Polytechnic University of Turin talked with the hosts on the modalities of cooperation between two universities, offered to consider a new agreement on cooperation, about joint organization of the conference BDC in 2010, the planned projects of Italian higher education institutions in the region, etc.

ASRO Regional Seminar - ISO / IEC 27001 Information Security Management Systems, Bucharest, 24-26 February 2010:
Organized by ASRO - the Romanian Association for Standardization (www.asro.ro) and ISO - International Organization for Standardization (www.iso.ch), in Bucharest, in the period 24 to 26 February 2010th held regional seminar was held for Eastern Europe - ISO / IEC 27001 management systems information security (ISMS - Information Security Management Systems). Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at the seminar MSc. Samir Lemeš (senior assistant at the Mechanical Engineering in Zenica and the president of BAS TC1) and MSc Enes Jakić, Coordinator for Information Technology Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
By the evolution of global economy, especially in a competitive business environment, the information is a subject to constant "threats" from various sources. There is a general need for establishing a security policy for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of information for all organizations. International standard for information security ISO / IEC 27001:2005 is fast becoming one of the most important tools in this regard. This standard offers a systematic approach to information management, which is analogous to the approaches used by standards such as ISO 9000 quality management system or ISO 14000 for environmental management.
ISO and ASRO were the hosts of the seminar in Bucharest, which is comprehensively covered the standards in this area, their implementation, the process of certification organizations, risk assessment, and identify threats and vulnerabilities of information systems.

It should be noted that to date only three organizations in B&H are certified under this standard: Central Bank of B&H, CS Computer Systems doo Sarajevo and the Institute for Economic Engineering IPI doo from Zenica.

During the period 23.02-26.02.2010. at the University of Zenica, Faculty of Health, the education is implemented through the project for students, web administrators and those who deal with web technologies. University of Zenica, Faculty of Health, headed by Prof. Dr. sc Sahib Muminagić launched the initiative for inclusion in Uniadion project led by University of Bologna. Contact for this cooperation is achieved attending a similar course that took place in the year 2008 at the Sarajevo University, and was attended by, at that time, the student of the Faculty of Health mr Mirza Oruč.  
Education was conducted by Prof. Cristiano Leoni. The course was held in the multimedia hall of UNZE, and there were 15 participants. The course lasted 24 school hours, and covered topics such as: Multimedia Technologies for Network Broadcasting, Publishing on the Web, Using Video Techniques Publishing, Wordpress, etc.. All participants received a certificate on the mentioned issues. This course is aimed at strengthening the competencies of individual students, and so it has strengthen themselves and the institutions and a better representation on the web.
According to a guest professor, this project opens the door for the establishment of better cooperation between our and the University of Bologna, and gives us opportunities to launch new projects and organization of similar education. During his stay Prof. C. Leoni, held a meeting with the Rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. Dr. sc Sabahudin Ekinović and the dean of the Faculty of Health Prof. Dr. sc Muminagić Sahib. As part of this project the Press Conference was held  too, where journalists provided with more information about the project and its significance. Proff C. Leoni finally pointed out the enthusiastic support that this project has got from the host, the University of Zenica and the Faculty of Health, and he expressed the gratitude and said that he hopes this is the beginning of a long and mutually satisfying cooperation.

VISIT OF PROF. DSc J. BERGSLAND TO THE UNZE FACULTY OF HEALTH:
Guest of the Faculty of Health, and of the UNZE Rectorate, was Prof. DSc Jacob Bergsland, who is professor at the University of Oslo, and Buffalo (USA), and is also medical director of the Center for Heart BH Tuzla. The eminent guest talked with the hosts, the dean and vice dean of the Faculty of Health Care, Prof. DSc Sahib Muminagić and Assistant Professor Salih Tandir as well as with the rector and the vice rector of UNZE, Prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović and Prof. DSc Darko Petković. They discussed the modalities of future cooperation of UNZE Faculty of Health Care and appropriate higher education institutions in Norway, as well as the resolving current issues of employment of graduates from FHC of UNZE. Prof. Bergsland stressed the importance of health personnel in each country and pointed out obvious lack of personnel in the EU countries. For instance, only in Norway it is possible at this moment to employ about 25 000 health workers with completed secondary medical school and completed studies of health care. In this sense Prof. Bergsland stressed the importance of the Center for Career Development within the BSC Zenica and binding with similar organizations in Norway, about what, besides the host, the director of BSC Zenica MSc. Nino Serdarević has talked too.

TEMPUS DAY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA:
Great hall of the Rectorate in Zenica was the meeting place of the Tempus UNZE for the current call for applications whose dead line date is 08.03.2010. Welcoming more than 30 representatives of all Organization Units, UNZE rector Prof. Dr Sabahudin Ekinović stressed the importance of the Tempus program for the academic community in B&H. The vice rector Prof. DSc Darko Petković gave Opening word on behalf of the host, presenting the former results of the University of Zenica and its OU-s in the Tempus program and he invited their representatives to apply this time to the Tempus program. Mr. Suad Muhibić, the Director B&H Tempus Office, gave detailed information during two hour lasting presentation of the innovations of the new Tempus calls. He emphasized the importance of monitoring the national and regional priorities that are defined and provide the relevant documentation, explained the methodology of preparation and electronic applications (also a novelty), and offering advisory and other assistance during the preparation of applications by UNZE. The Rector and the Dean, Prof.  Ekinović and Prof. Zečić, participated in the conference which was organized at the Institute SENIO, University La Sapienza, together with many other Rectors and Representatives of the academic community in Europe and the world and with the representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Italy.

PRAKTIKUM: CREATING POLICIES FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION ":
In the building of the Parliament of B&H in Sarajevo, organized by MCP Council of Ministers, a practicum was held on the topic "Creating a policy for science, technology and innovation in the framework of project" CAPACITY BUILDING AND INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING OF SCIENCE AND RESEARCH IN B&H ". During a full-day work on the project which, on behalf of the company's R & D, is leaded by Lajos Nviri, the following participants have taken part: Mr Alasdair Reid, director of the project (Technopolis Consulting Group Belgium), Engelbert Rous (Director UNSECO-Bresce), Slavo Radosevic (UCL, UK), Mariana Chioncel (Institute for prospective technological studies, Seville), George Strogylopoulos (Logotech, Greece), width Elči (Technopolis Consulting Group, Turkey), Silva Korez (Zentrum for Soziale Innovation, Austria), GUNAR Westholm (Project Support), Emira Bečić (Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, Croatia) and George Kutlača (Institute Mihailo Pupin, Belgrade, Serbia). On behalf of MCP, the practicum was led by Biljana Čamur, Assistant Minister for Science and Culture and on behalf of UNZE, Prof. DSc Senad Balic participated in practicum, who is one of the participants in the IPA Project Development Innovation Centers Zenica, Mostar and Banja Luka.

FINAL CONFERENCE ON THE TEMPUS PROJECT "FROM QUALITY ASSURANCE TO STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT":
In Sarajevo, IN the Business Center UNITIC, the final conference was held at the Tempus project "From quality assurance to strategic development." In the presence of representatives of the academic community in B&H and of the countries of region, the conference was opened by Director of WUS Austria Graz-Mr. Adi Kovačević. The participants were welcomed too by the MCP representatives of the Council of Ministers, Tempus B&H, the Agency for the Development of Higher Education Quality Assurance in Bosnia, the Austrian development cooperation, and others. After that, all eight public universities in B&H presented their achievements in this project, including UNZE. University of Zenica was represented by Vice Rector Prof. Darko Petković, QA manager, MSc. Ibrahim Plančić, QA manager of the Faculty of Law, MSc Spahija Kozlić, Secretary General of UNZE, Miss Mediha Arnaut and the Chief of UNZE University Libraries, Mr Aras Borić. In the speech of vice-rector Petkovic, the importance of this project is stressed for the development of complex quality assurance system that UNZE performed, not only by the appointment of QA managers and by the structure of quality systems, by the development and equipping of offices for QA, the development of internal evaluation of the status and performance of external evaluation, but before all by the development of human resources and strengthening the culture of the organization, indicating that quality is a process that develops by number of sophisticated methods and techniques, training, education, conferences and by other activities. With words of gratitude to the project management and foreign partners from the universities of Graz and Girona for all the effort in the realization of them, Vice Rector Petković handed gifts of UNZE, images academic painter Tomislav Perazić as a remembrance and gratitude for all the support he had during UNZE project (printing the documents of internal evaluation sheet, UNZE development strategies, policies, quality, equipment quality offices, new projects and development of network quality, etc.).
On the second day a meeting was held of the project consortium, who considered all aspects of the project before submitting a final report to EC in Brussels.

PRACTICUM: DEVELOPMENT OF KEY INDICATORS OF THE B&H PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES:
Bringing to the end one of the activities which involved the development of quality assurance systems in each of the 8 public universities in B&H, it was entered into a new qualitative stage of the work of these bodies which are related to the development of key indicators of the situation. In this sense, new practicum was held for B&H public universities, in the central business district UNITIC in Sarajevo, which brought together Vice-Rectors and QA managers of public universities. On the basis of the submitted questionnaire created by the EUA and the National Agency for Higher Education in Slovenia which UNZE submitted to the participants, a lively discussion is developed about the importance of knowledge of these parameters in the strategic and operational planning. Prof.Petković, Vice Rector of UNZE, who, with the QA manager Mr Plančić represented UNZE at this meeting, presented the list, and the values and trends for more than 40 KI states that  UNZE follows in the annual evaluations of UNZE running since 2005. It is especially emphasized the difference between the Annual Report of UNZE and the Internal Evaluation of the situation and in this sense, emphasized is the importance of entering this process by all public universities in B&H, which would create the objective conditions for the comparison and real measurable improvements in every state public university. The work practicum is participated by the representatives of the Agency for the development of higher education and quality assurance of B&H. The practicum is organized by WUS Austria, Sarajevo Office.

FINAL ACTIVITIES OF THE TEMPUS PROJECT "FROM QUALITY ASSURANCE TO STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT":
In Sarajevo, un the ACEESS Center, in the days. 19 and 20/01/2010., annual seminar was held on the Tempus project "From quality assurance to strategic development." With the technical assistance of WUS-Austria, who led the whole project, two-day seminar began and it was opened by Director of WUS Austria Sarajevo Office-Mr. Dino Mujkić. After the presentation of previous results, presented by project manager Mrs. Nina Smith, a very impressive presentation followed of how to do the organization work and especially how to perform internal evaluations, budgets and use of key indicators of the state and their significance for the operational and strategic planning on behalf of the University of Cork (College University of Cork, Ireland) presented Dr. Ronan O Dubhghaill, director of planning and institutional research UCC. In the afternoon, Prof. DSc Nihad Fejzić, director of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance in B&H, talked to the participants about the importance of knowledge of the key indicators of state institutions. During the work of the afternoon session, which was run by Vice Rector of UNZE Prof. DSc Darko Petković and Vice Rector of the University of Mostar, Prof. DSc Dražen Tomić, the talks were about the current state of the academic community in B&H, when this important segment of the work is in question. Vice Rector Petković stressed the importance of continuous internal evaluation and performance monitoring of key indicators of the situation as excellent tools in the development of QA and in effective and efficient operational and strategic management of higher institutions.
On the second day, the representatives of the academic community BIH worked on defining a common framework for monitoring key indicators of the situation. On behalf of UNZE, the QA manager, Senior Assistant MSc Ibrahim Plančić participated too in this work.

RECTORATE UNZE: RECEPTION FOR NEW DOCTORS OF SCIENCES AND PRESS CONFERENCE:
The traditional reception for new doctors of sciences, who published their doctoral thesis in the last 6 months, was held in Rector's Office of UNZE on 11/01/2010. Addressing to the journalists, the Rector, prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović, has introduced new doctors of sciences:  DSc of economical sciences Jasmin Halebić, DSc of technical Sciences: Marina Jovanović, Amra Talić-Čikmiš and Sabahudin Jašarević and DSc of physical education and physical culture Aleksa Stanković. Stressing the importance of R & D work, which every doctoral thesis brings with, prof. DSc Darko Petković congratulated the new doctors of science the acquired titles and emphasized the importance of their contribution to the development of scientific thought at UNZE and B&H.

CIP UNZE: NEW INTERNATIONAL PROJECT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA:
The beginning of 2010 is marked by nice information about the beginning of the IPA 2009 project (Instrument for Pre-Accesion Assistance-EC Council Regulation No 1085/2006 - OJ L 210/82 of 31.07.2006.), received by CIP UNZE that related to the development of innovative centres in Zenica, Mostar and Banja Luka (project BGUE-B2009-22.020200-C1-ELARG DELBIH). In fact, based on the prepared application procedure and approval by the EC Brussels, Dei MCP Council of Ministers, with partners from Zenica, Mostar and Banja Luka, the project should begin during January 2010. This is one of a series of projects in which CIP UNZE is consistently working on the development of NTP Zenica, and it is also a partner to put its resources to benefit of the community by assisting in the development of innovative centers in Mostar and Banja Luka.

European Perspectives is a scientific journal that publishes original, peer-reviewed scientific articles focusing on relevant political, sociological, social, security, economic and legal as well as ethnic, cross-ethnic, minority and cross-cultural issues related to European and Euro-Atlantic integrations and South-Eastern Europe. We also welcome papers focusing on regional integration processes especially in comparison with the Western Balkans.

CIP UNZE: CONCOURS FOR PRINTING THE MOST INNOVATIVE BROCHURE OF LABORATORIES, EMPLOYMENT AND SPIN-OFF AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA:
At the end of the year 2009, Center for innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Zenica made the call for teachers, aides and students to give an overview of the activities of his laboratory, centers, institutes and other organizational forms of UNZE, through the publications (brochures) planned to be print by CIP UNZE,  in the first quarter of 2010. The three most innovative presentation of the choice of management CIP will be printed from the CIP project budget by approximately 1500.00 KM each. By this CIP UNZE wants to support innovative, entrepreneurial presentations of their organizational and sub-organizational units. Submitted final proposals in pdf and Word (or another designated press) format on the CD should be delivered to the address CIP UNZE, Travnik road 1 (n / r. Mr Nino Serdarević).

SARAJEVO / VIENNA: SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA AND THE UNIVERSITY MOSTAR:
On the concourse of WUS and ADA Austria for the implementation of projects in 2010,  the University of Zenica and University Mostar have applied with the joint project „Development of information system for quality assurance“, based on measures implemented for improvement after the external evaluation made in  the beginning of 2009 by the EUA from Brussels. These days, the Austrian Development Cooperation has announced the result that from 3 approved projects in B&H one is  of UNZE and University Mostar. Project preparation with the University Mostar was led by QA manager prof. DSc Snjezana Rezić and vice-rector prof. DSc Drazen Tomić, and on behlf of UNZE it was done by QA manager MSc Ibrahim Plančić and vice-rector prof. DSc Darko Petković.

BRUSSELS: TWO NEW TEMPUS PROJECTS IN WHICH THE UNZE WILL PARTICIPATE:
EC in Brussels through its Tempus program issued a final list of approved projects, the realisation of which will begin in February, 2010. Among the 65 approved projects for the countries of Europe, Asia and Africa, there are two in which the partner is the University of Zenica. The holder of the first project is the University of Alikantea (Spain) and it refers to the strengthening of the quality system in the Western Balkans (158999_Tempus_ES_SMGR: Strengthening Quality Assurance System within West Balkans HEI's in Support of National and Regional Planning) and the holder of the second project is the Ka-Ho St. Lieven University of Ghent (Belgium) and it refers to the processes of accreditation in higher education curriculum (158853_Tempus_BE_SMGR: EU Standards for Accreditation of Study Programs on BIH Universities). For the preparation of these projects significant was the experience and contribution of UNZE (CIP Center and QA Office) in cited field, as the basis for well-prepared applications and approved applications.

SARAJEVO: START OF NEW PROJECT "Support to Higher Education in B&H":
German agency GOPA promoted on 16/12/2009. in Sarajevo the start of a new project "Support to Higher Education in B&H", which will be, through the EU IPA fund, implemented over the next two years. In the presence of representatives of the academic community of B&H, relevant ministries, welcome addressing is done by the representatives of MCP, the Ministries of Education of FB&H and RS and the EC and the CoE in Sarajevo. The most important projects are presented in the field of higher education, which are elaborated in this moment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. UNZE experience in the integration process was presented by Vice-Rector of UNZE prof. DSc Darko Petković.

Odrzavanje 2010Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica organizes 1st conference "Maintenance 2010“.
Conference objectives are:
  • Gathering the people engaged in maintenance of working facilities, from various aspects and their structural organization,
  • Communication of research results in the maintenance, both theoretical and practical ones,
  • Exchange of experiences from practical maintenance activities,
  • Transfer of knowledge in the field of maintenance.

ZENICA: VISIT OF THE DELEGATION OF U.S. EMBASSY IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA:
Guests of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica on 10.12.2009. were the representatives of United States Embassy in B&H, Mrs Janet W. Miller, Attaché for Public Affairs and Mr. Elizabeth Delalić, advisor for cultural cooperation. After the opening words, the Rector prof.Dr Sabahudin Ekinović has presented other hosts, vice-rector prof.Dr Darko Petković, secretary general of UNZE, Miss Mediha Arnaut and Coordinator for International Cooperation MSc Selam Spužić. There was talk about past cooperation with UNZE and higher education organizations in the United States that went through this embassy. Mr. Janet W. Miller stressed the importance of this cooperation and mobility mentioning several programs for teachers and students of UNZE. Representatives of the U.S. Embassy in particular stressed the importance that need to have students of English language and literature in these programs, for their better development of competence.

SARAJEVO: NATIONAL TEMPUS DAY:
Another year's National Tempus 09.12.2009.godine day was held in Sarajevo, organized by Tempus Office in B&H. After the welcome address Mr. Boris Larochevitch, a Head of EC Delegation in Sarajevo, Mrs Esma Hadžagić the head of MCP and prof.Dr Hazim Bašić, vice-rector of UNSA as the host, presented were the results of last Tempus calls for tender published in the Tempus IV applications (Mr. Suad Muhibić, head of BIH Tempus Office). About Tempus IV detail spoke: Mr. Piia Heinamaki from EACEA Agency, and about programs IPA 2007-2013 Mrs. Maria Farra-Hockley, the EC Office in Sarajevo. Selected examples of successful BIH Tempus projects were presented by prof. DSc Darko Petković, prof.Dr Muharem Avdispahić and assistant professor Dejan Bokonjić. Final presentation of the new EU project in Bosnia had prof. DSc Paul Rinderu, head of project Support to Higher Education Reform in B&H. University of Zenica was represented at this seminar with several participants from different organisation units of the University. ZENICA: Reception for the Delegation from Turkey Yalova UNIVERSITY:
Guests of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica were representatives of Yalova University (University Yalova, www.yalova.edu.tr) one of the most reacently established public university in Turkey. Host of the delegation from Turkey, consisted of Mr Fevzi Esen, head of the Erasmus project of cooperation between universities and Gugonul Bozoglu, coordinator of international cooperation, was the Coordinator  of International Cooperation of UNZE, MSc Selam Spužić. During more than one hour lasting talks, discussed were the possible modalities of cooperation between two universities. At the end of the talks the guests from Turkey were received by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics prof. DSc Dževad Zečić and vice rector of UNZE prof. DSc Darko Petković.

RECEPTION IN THE RECTORATE OF POLY-TECHNIC UNIVERSITY Catalonia in Barcelona:
In the afternoon 02.12. Management of the University of Zenica, was the guest of Rectorate of Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona (Universidad Politecnica de Catalynia - UPC www.upc.es). The hosts to the delegation of UNZE were prof.Dr Rector Antoni Giro Roca, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Luis Torres and Mr.. Helena Martinez, director of the Office of International Cooperation, and old cooperators with UNZE, Prof. Joan Vivancos Calvet and prof. DSc Peter Gomme. With words of welcome, the hosts presented one of the largest academic organization in Spain with more than 40 000 students and several thousand teachers and other staff. Rector Roca has proudly pointed out that the UPC campus and the University of Barcelona a few days ago declared the most innovative research center in Europe this year. With gratitude for the exceptionally cordial reception, the rector ofUNZE, prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović and vice rector prof. DSc Darko Petković, presented UNZE and its plans for future cooperation. In the company of the UNZE management were: the dean of the Faculty of Economics UNZE prof. DSc Dževad Zečić director of BSC Zenica Mr sc. Nino Serdarević. After reception in the Rectorate of UPC, the hosts showed to UNZE guests new institutes and laboratories, CIM Center TP Barcelona and presented the results of some of the most important projects.

GIRONA-SPAIN: CIP UNZE AND BSC PARTICIPATION IN CONFERENCE BIR 2009:
Catalan city of Girona and its Scientific-Technological Park and the University hosted a two-day conference BIR - Business Isolated Regions in 2009 in which participated the representatives of more than 20 European countries. The two-day work of the Conference and the practicum are presented as guided by the experience of European universities, development agencies and incubators specialized in the development of entrepreneurship, support the development and growth of the SME sector, transforming the region's economies, development of innovative business, a spin-off companies and other forms of significance for entrepreneurial transformation and development. Chairman of the Conference prof. DSc Grabulosa, ex-Rector of the University of Girona and the current owner of one of the most innovative company NTP Girona, during two days of work through and through given opportunity to each of the 60 participants to show their vision of future cooperation, persevered in the building a stronger binding partnership through a network that would be formed at the level of all participants in the consortium. On behalf of UNZE, the representatives of Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and BSC Zenica participated in the conference, namely prof. DSc Darko Petković and MSc Nino Serdarević. During the conference significant contacts were achieved with the Swedish incubator from Valdemarsvika (Director Thomas Ekh-om), research institutes ICIA at the University of Cluj-Napoca from Romania (Director Simona Barsan Clara), University of Miskolc (prof.Dr provost Peter Bikvalfli and prof.Dr Lazslo Sarkozy) and other partners from Finland, Germany, Denmark, Spain and other countries.

RECEPTION IN RECTORATE of GIRONA, Spain NEW PROTOCOL ON COOPERATION:
Management of the University of Zenica prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović rector and vice rector prof. DSc Darko Petković, accompanied by the Dean of Faculty of Economics UNZE prof. DSc Dževad Zečić and director of BSC Zenica MSc Nino Serdarević were the guests of Rectorate of the University of Girona (UDG). University of Girona (www.udg.edu), in the province of Catalonia, is one of the youngest and most active Spanish universities, which exists as an independent one since 20 years ago and today has more than 15,000 students. Once the UDG was part of the Independent University of Barcelona (Autonomous Univerisity of Barcelona). For the team from B&H, the vice rector for quality of UDG prof. DSc Juanda Josep Bosch presented the software solution to jump-tracking students acquire competency in the course of instruction. After this meeting, held was the second meeting with prof. DSc Magua Luis Perez Cabana, Vice-rector for international cooperation and Pilar Marques Gou, head of the Office of International Affairs, and with UDG Faculty of Economics management, on the modalities of future cooperation UNZE and UDG. At the end of the visit the UNZE rector, prof. DSc Sabahudin Ekinović signed a five-year cooperation agreement between two universities, which cover the joint project applications, the exchange of professors and students, cooperation in teaching and scientific research and other modalities of cooperation between higher education institutions.
